NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR GOALS BECAUSE OF THE TIME IT WILL TAKE TO ACHIEVE THEM...
THE TIME WILL PASS ANYWAY!
Maintaining your weight is never an easy task and needs just as much dedication as losing it in the first place. However with behaviour change and group support it's made much easier
'The before photo was taken in 1995, but my weight loss journey started many years before the photo when I was a lot more overweight - over the years I have lost 96lbs.
Since joining KCALS In September 2021 l am now maintaining my weight at a level I am happy with. The biggest benefit to me from being part of the KCALS family has been the meetings. The support and encouragement in the meetings, from Coaches & members sharing experiences and listening to and discussing the weekly theme has really helped me to improve my mindset and how I feel about food, This is a work in progress, but I really feel that I am moving in the right direction!
I love the flexibility of counting calories and now feel that I have a 'life', where I can eat what I want as long as I weigh it (if possible) and track honestly. Gone is the guilt of eating over my day's calorie allowance. My relationship with food has never been better! I just wish KCALS had been in my life years ago.
My First photo was taken in August 2022 and the last is taken before the Xmas ball 2023.
What a difference 1 stone makes but at 5ft2 I don't really carry excess well.
I joined KCALS around October 2022 and people ask why I still go but without it I would be right back to where I was. I haven't set a goal weight and would always love to loose more but I'm pretty happy where I am, I feel comfortable in my skin, can fit in clothes that don't cost the earth and have the food and drink I love. Thanks to KCALS for all your support, I wouldn't be able to do it without you
The photo in the pink top is on holiday last September!
The black top is me now feeling wonderful 2 stone lighter thanks to the KCALS family
My journey started July 2023. Gave up smoking December 2022 and piled the weight on. Unhappy with myself at the time & decided to join KCALS, best decision I’ve ever made 21lbs lighter much fitter and much happier.
I started my weight loss last January prior to having a knee operation. I lost weight but faltered and wanted to try a group. A friend recommended KCALS and I have enjoyed being part of a friendly and inspirational group - the results are encouraging and in total I am starting this year almost 3 stone lighter!
Meet the fabulous and glamorous Janine from our Royton sessions..
The start of my weight loss journey started years ago and over those years I have lost and regained my weight many times.
In the summer of 2023 after another overweight holiday I saw a poster advertising KCALS. So on a hot summers Thursday evening I joined the Royton group. Claire at time time was on Holiday and it was Lisa that was taking the class..... I had made my mind up that it was coming off and this time when I got to target it was going to stay off.
Well I’m now at target after loosing 3 stone and I can honestly say I feel fabulous , don’t get me wrong I’ve had ups and downs but I have learnt that it’s OK to go wrong sometimes, we are human! Counting calories is so easy and fits in to any lifestyle.
KCALS Thank you so much for all your support on my weight loss journey . I’m with you forever
After being in and out of other weight loss companies, and up and down on the scales I knew I had to change something. When I started to get closer to my 40s I saw a poster for KCALS in my GP surgery. I’ve always avoided counting calories after it’s explained how hard and confusing it can be (by other weight loss companies) but I thought-might aswell try this. Calorie counting is so much clearer and easier- I can eat out without any guess work. And finally no more randomly assigned syns or points that change with the wind. Calorie counting is easy, straightforward and clear, information is right there on all food packets and menus. Thanks to the group and its coaches I have learned about my body and how it works and more importantly, how I can help it! But the best part: I still get all the support I need from group.
lMeet the fabulous Liz from our Royton sessions moving from size 28 now rocking size 14
Three Christmas do’s 2022, 2023 and 2024.
For all those struggling I have been there, I have struggled, but I dust myself off and get back on the scales. I own it and no longer feel guilty or bad for what I eat. Just keep going, you will get there! Hope this gives people some support and encouragement.
I have struggled all my life with my weight. Do not intend to go back to where I was, so come hell or high water I will be accountable and keep an eye on these habits that I have. Don't give up, you have got this!
A gorgeous member maintaining their weight loss proving it can be done if you stay interested in yourself and you surround yourself with people who lift you higher.
After a holiday in Florida in July 2016, I looked at the photos of myself and was not happy at all. At 10st7lb and 5ft, this really showed on me, and I wasn't happy.
I started August 2016 and the week before Christmas 2016, I got to my goal weight of 9stone. Elated, a more toned figure, healthier, and a size 8-10.
Covid hit! but I bought my wedding dress to get married in June 2021, which was fitted. This kept me on track through the pandemic, and I found walking and HIlT, like everyone else.
When KCALS started, I was there like a shot.
Maintaining is hard, I go up, I go down, the lowest to 8st12 but what keeps me going is knowing l'have to be in class to keep getting weighed. I love the Saturday gang and the Wednesday walkers and have made great friendships.
KCALS is a family and we all support each other as it is a journey. I will always be on a journey, but 7 years at goal.
Meet the lovely Em from our Saturday sessions…
I don't always see the difference in my body shape. The scales & numbers are a big thing for me & I know I let it get in my head too much.
That's something I'll try to work on this year.
KCALS has tought me that I can eat well, choose wisely, live life and enjoy myself. I've got a whole village of people supporting me, whether that be Claire & Julie, the fab Saturday members, Wednesday walking crew, or our amazing FaceBook group.
KCALS is more than a weight loss class, it's a family & I feel so very lucky to be part of it. I'm not at goal, still 1 stone to go. But I've lost 21lbs with KCALS
I've made some wonderful friends along the way too So thank you each & everyone of you who's been part of this journey.
I am now 53.5lbs lighter, (and yes those halves are important!).
When I first started KCALS I set my weight loss goal at 2 and a half stone. I got there last March loving and believing in the process.
I then carried on, achieving 3 stone, then 50lbs. I'm now looking at 4 stone). Slow and steady definitely wins the race for me.
Without KCALS, I honestly know I would have never achieved this. KCALS is life changing, if you want it to be, and I would recommend it to anyone.
I love staying for the meetings as there is always something new to learn, hints to pick up and it's a little bit of me time.
KCALS is now a way of life for me and a lifestyle choice that I am delighted to have chosen. For someone that has tried every "diet" plan going, I can't recommend this highly enough.
Meet Michelle from our Saturday sessions who’s now been maintaining her weight loss with KCALS for over 2 years…
I’ve been on a diet since I was a teenager, lost weight put it back on, same merry go round for years so what’s different now…
I no longer eat different food to the rest of my family, just a bit less! I no longer make excuses not to go out socialising with family & friends!
I no longer say I’m on a diet! My life has changed… I’m healthier & happier thanks to all our KCALS family, their support, get fit with Rick gang & the gym. It’s a lifestyle change that I’ve totally embraced. I’m now in control My biggest advice would be ‘go to class’
Meet David who literally saved his own life by dropping 12 stone, he’s half the man he used to be. He decided calorie counting was much easier for him you can learn more about food and what your body needs when you are aware of the nutrients.
Sandra reached her goal last night 4.5 stone lighter, stronger and fitter...
For me, Kcals is a question of balance. I have made changes but not missed out. Pom bears, 65 cals instead of Walkers crisps, Solero ice cream, 99 cals instead of a magnum etc. I eat a high protein diet so a lot of calories goes on that. Who knew I could eat fish & chips and still lose weight. I feel great and I have my fitness back.
Meet Neil and Gaynor
Myself and Gaynor started KCALS in July 2023 after banging on loads of weight over the past couple of years since lockdown.
We were both at our biggest and KCALS was recommended to us by a good friend.
What a welcome we received.
Everyone was so friendly and as a man, I didn't feel out of place at all. There were another couple of men there too which was nice.
Since joining we have lost over 4 1/2 stone between us and the help and support has been fantastic. Everyone is on their own journey but happy to help share tips and experiences to help others along.
It's definitely not judgemental. Groups are funny and informative and very well led. No week is the same.
I've got a long way to go but with KCALS help I'm hoping the journey will be a lot shorter. Gaynor is at goal but will continue to support others as that's what she does. Maintenance for her will be easier with support around her.
Overall this isn't a normal slimming group, it's become a little family and one we love being a part
Meet the very Dapper Terry from our Wednesday sessions 💙 and his no nonsense approach…
Picture on the left(great wall of China) is about 15 years ago and it was about a year later that I walked into Claire Bensons weight loss class.
It took me about a year to become the handsome looking fella on the right and I have kept it of since.
Maintainance is not easy and I have my own way of doing it.
I have a 7lb range that I call my happy place and as soon as I over step my happy place I go on an eating no crap regime until I am back where I need to be! We all know what crap is and it works for me.
I am an advocate of the fact that you have to be at your weekly meetings or no system works.
I’m Sam and this is my journey
I’ve been looking after my self for a long time now and the picture with the white dress was one of the low times in my life I felt uncomfy, not sexy, unfit and damn right ugly!! I’ve had a problem with my weight for a long time, and to this day I still struggle with how I look and how I feel and at times I cry! Yes I cry but looking at how far I have come is amazing .
I got picked on for being big and got called names that were so cruel and upsetting.
I now say the them and show them what I’ve done by showing it off.
I love to workout and walking is my new fave
I’ve been at KCALS for a long time and the group is amazing, Friendly, supportive, gives you structure, everyone is on the same journey and we do it together, we help each other, we share meals & we talk out our problems. This is not a weight loss group this a family that helps you be you and enjoy ur life but still lose weight and smile I’ve done it! YES I’ve done it.
